SUSS is on the cusp of a new era, one marked by growth and an ever-strengthening alumni community. As we build our new campus in the heart of Rochor, the vibrant city pulse mirrors the energy of our expanding alumni network. With more than 50,000 graduates across industries and countries, this new city campus will not only serve a dynamic student body but also support a growing alumni population, our active advocates and co-creators of the future.
This spirit of our alumni advocacy took center stage recently at the ARomas Appreciation Luncheon, where alumni featured in our ARomas video series came together with fellow senior alumni executives and key faculty members for an afternoon of networking. The room buzzed with laughter, shared memories, stories of personal and professional growth, all grounded in the SUSS values of lifelong learning, inclusivity, and service to society.
Our Alumni, Our Voice
While preparing to enter this new era of change, we are also doubling down on our efforts to make alumni voices heard. Alumni engagement at SUSS goes beyond keeping in touch, it is about championing the value of applied learning, mentoring the next generation, and representing the university in workplaces, industries, and communities, both at home and abroad.
From alumni who have returned as adjunct lecturers and project mentors, to those featured in initiatives like SUSS ARomas, every story adds a new brushstroke to the SUSS legacy. What’s more inspiring is how these advocates actively embody the lifelong learning ethos—returning to pick up new certifications, sharing career pivots, and extending a helping hand to students navigating their own journeys.
A Place to Come Home To
The upcoming move to our new Rochor campus is more than a change in geography. Nestled in the heart of the city, the new campus offers a dynamic, inclusive space that reflects who we are today and who we aspire to become. It will not only house our growing student population but also serve as a touchpoint for alumni to reconnect, recharge, and reignite their bond with the university.
The campus will be home to new ideas, collaborations, and community spaces designed to bring students, alumni, and partners together. We envision it as a launchpad for fresh initiatives, a venue for mentorship events, and a central hub where learning never truly ends.
Fueling the Alumni Movement
Alumni advocacy does not require a grand gesture. Sometimes, it begins with a small act like mentoring a student, attending an event, or simply sharing your story. Each connection, every moment of engagement, adds to the mosaic of what it means to be part of the SUSS family.
The ARomas appreciation luncheon reminded us that community is built not just on shared experiences but on continued effort. Many alumni expressed excitement to contribute more, whether through offering internships or supporting student-led initiatives.
Wee Keng Boon (Bachelor of Building and Project Management, Class of 2017) shared, “It’s easy to forget how powerful your journey can be for someone just starting out. Being able to inspire or advise someone who’s walking a path I once did, it’s humbling, and I want to do more.”
Come Home, Give Back, Grow Together
As SUSS steps boldly into its next chapter, with a new campus on the horizon, we invite you, our alumni, to step forward with us. Whether you are signing up as a mentor, joining an engagement event, or simply reconnecting through our online alumni portal, SUSS Connect, your voice matters. Alumni is the spark that inspires students, the support that guides peers, and the heartbeat of a community that keeps growing.
