Class of 2020
It was a bustling Saturday early this May, as our students and alumni arrived at Golden Village VivoCity as early as 2:30 p.m. to catch the blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Excited chatters filled the air as attendees lined up patiently to collect their tickets.
Directed and produced by the talented James Gunn, he was the brain behind the first two installments of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. However, here is the climax that left fans stunned: this will be the grand finale of the beloved franchise. The Guardians franchise has elements of not only action but also comedic and emotional parts, leading it to be extremely well-received among people across different ages!
Alumni Relations and our volunteers all geared up for registration!
Alumna Selina Tan, BA in Communications with Management, Class of 2020, expressed her delight in joining our Unwind Saturday event once again. For Selina, it was not just about having fun and relaxation; it was a wonderful opportunity to bond with her sister!
Meanwhile, the day proved to be an entirely distinct experience for another alumnus. Norman, BSc in Psychology, Class of 2018, shared his spontaneous enthusiasm for the event. Seeing, as it was his first time participating, Norman expressed his genuine appreciation for the chance to watch a movie with his spouse, while forging new connections with like-minded coursemates and fellow alumni.
Alumna Mardiana, BSc Psychology, Class of 2023, beamed and revealed that this was the first time she had signed up for this event. A young-looking mother of three, she felt that it was a good bonding session with her kids.
Professor Tan Tai Yong, President of SUSS, and some senior management members also attended the event to interact with our alumni. Prof Tan took the opportunity to update the alumni on recent university developments, including the annual SUSS Giving Day. He urged all alumni and attendees to support this meaningful initiative, as their donation would go towards building up our endowment fund to help needy students. He expressed his hopes for our alumni to continuously support SUSS through their involvement in school-related activities and other initiatives, “building good for our community and our future”.
President Professor Tan Tai Yong addressing our guests before the movie!
We were heartened by the good turnout and interactions. We look forward to more exciting get-togethers to come!
